My 2023 projects were pretty simple to pick. All Rift Bloodlines books, and compiling Ernie. The question is, will I have enough time to finish the books?
Rift Bloodlines Book 1 – Buried by Earth
Book 1 of the Rift Bloodlines series is the one that is the furthest along of of the first three in the series.
Right now I am finishing up the final proof before I send it to my copy editor. I’m not sure on timings of how long it will take, or how long it’s going to take me to review it, so those are both going to be interesting to figure out.
This is the project I’m most optimistic about finishing.
Rift Bloodlines Book 2 – Bitten by Frost
Book 2 of the Rift Bloodlines Seires is only on its 2nd draft. It needs another run through before I can send to beta readers. I was pretty happy with it after the last draft, but I added something to the end that needed to be backfilled, so that needs to be done along with the proof read.
The rest of the steps I am hoping will work out as I can go between book 2 and 3 while I wait for beta readers/editors etc as the year goes on.
Rift Bloodlines Book 3 – Battered by Storms
Book 3 of the Rift Bloodlines Series is only on its 1st draft. When I do the 2nd draft, it’s going to grow by 50%, and probably need at least half of the existing story re-written. I have the outlined changes ready to go, and I’m looking forward to getting into it.
Finishing this project all the way through might be a stretch depending on how long all the rest of the project takes.
Rift Bloodlines – Origin Stories
The origin shorts are a collection of 8 short stories from the main POV’s in the Rift Bloodlines books 1 to 3’s. There is also an extra story from book 3’s main character’s past, revealing a secret. I may change how I’m tracking these as I get closer to release (most likely for free), as they will be grouped together by couple.
The status of these is a little harder to track because they are all in different stages, and the editing process they go through will be slightly different. But I’m very confident I should get these done by the end of the year!
Ernie Smith and the Seven Deadly Sins Collection
The last project here, though it’s likely one that will be done before any of the rest, is to gather up all the Ernie stories, and publish them together. I have written a bonus story, A Long Dragon Day, that I can’t wait to do one final review of and then collect them all together.
Depending on where the editing of Short stories and book 1 lands, this could be sooner than I’d expected. I can’t wait to see it in print, even if I’m a little sad that it’s over(for now).
This year is set to be a busy one, but If I get it all done, next year I’ll have 3 books in my Paranormal Romance series ready to be published!
