In 2022 I set a word of the year – BALENCE.
It was all about finding a better split between writing and fun and work. This kind of balance is always going to take work as our lives and needs changed, but by making it my word of the year, I was able to change my routine until I found something worked for me. That’s not to say it would work for everyone, but I am pretty pleased with what I accomplished last year.
So, with the success of 2022’s word of the year, I picked a new one for 2023
My word of 2023 is FOCUS
My word of the year from last year helped me stay on track and narrowed in on what I wanted to achieve – Publishing the Rift Bloodlines series. This year I want to make the most of the balance I achieved.
I waste a lot of time procrastinating. Some of it is endlessly scrolling through shorts on Instagram or YouTube. Some of it is just getting lost down a random rabbit hole of a new idea. So, for me, finding my focus is all about being intentional with my time and staying on target while I’m writing. But I also want to publish the Rift Bloodlines books 1 to 3 in 2024, and there is a lot of work that needs to get done this year to get there.
